Fullstack Product Engineer (senior)

If you’re excited about combining software engineering, AI, data, and real-world impact, this is your opportunity to help transform one of the world’s most essential industries.

Help transform the future of soft fruit production through data and AI

We are looking for a Senior Fullstack AI Product Engineer who wants to build technology with real-world impact.

At YieldComputer, we’re helping drive the digital transformation of the soft fruit industry. As growers face increasing pressure from labor shortages, sustainability requirements, crop protection challenges, and demanding retail supply chains, data-driven cultivation is becoming essential.

Our platform helps growers improve harvest forecasting, enabling them to optimize resources, improve operational efficiency, reduce waste, and increase profitability.

This is not another SaaS dashboard.

This is a solution that directly influences decisions made by growers every day.

The opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced software engineer who enjoys working across product, architecture, and engineering.

You’ll play a key role in shaping both our platform and the way we develop software as a team.

We’re particularly interested in someone who understands that AI is changing software development fundamentally, but also understands that great software still requires strong engineering principles, clear architecture, and disciplined execution.

You won’t just build features.

You’ll help define how a modern AI-first engineering team operates.

What you’ll be working on

As a Senior Fullstack AI Product Engineer, you’ll work across our entire platform:

  • Designing and building backend and frontend functionality
  • Developing and maintaining REST APIs
  • Building integrations with climate computers, sensors, and external services such as WhatsApp
  • Working on data-intensive and AI-driven applications
  • Collaborating closely with data analysts and data scientists
  • Helping shape product direction and technical architecture
  • Reviewing code quality, scalability, and maintainability
  • Evaluating and implementing new technologies where they create real customer value

AI-first software development

AI is deeply embedded in our development process.

We work extensively with Claude Code and have already automated significant parts of our software development workflow.

However, we’re not looking for someone who simply knows how to “vibe code.”

We’re looking for an engineer who understands how to leverage AI responsibly and effectively at scale.

You will help us:

  • Establish engineering standards and development practices
  • Create guardrails for AI-generated code
  • Improve software quality and consistency
  • Define testing strategies and quality controls
  • Design effective workflows around AI-assisted development
  • Ensure architectural consistency across the platform

You understand that the quality of AI-generated software depends heavily on the quality of requirements, specifications, prompts, and test cases.

You know how to translate business needs into clear functional requirements, acceptance criteria, and testing scenarios that enable AI tools to produce reliable outcomes.

Our goal is not to generate more code.

Our goal is to build better software, faster.

Working as one integrated team

We believe the best products emerge when software engineering, data science, analytics, and domain expertise work together.

You’ll work closely with:

  • Software engineers
  • Data analysts (plant scientists)
  • Data scientists
  • Product stakeholders

Together we build forecasting solutions that combine software, data engineering, machine learning, and practical industry knowledge.

We value collaboration across disciplines and people who enjoy connecting technology to real customer outcomes.

Technology stack

Our current stack includes:

  • Azure
  • C#
  • REST APIs
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • React
  • TypeScript
  • Databricks
  • Claude Code and AI-assisted development tooling

Experience with every technology is not required. Strong engineering fundamentals, architectural thinking, and a willingness to learn are far more important.

Who we’re looking for

You are an experienced software engineer who:

  • Has several years of experience building production software
  • Is comfortable working across backend and frontend development
  • Understands software architecture and system design
  • Can make and defend technical decisions
  • Enjoys collaborating across disciplines
  • Is excited about AI-driven software development
  • Takes ownership and responsibility
  • Values maintainable, scalable, high-quality software
  • Understands how engineering processes impact team effectiveness
  • You are fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Dutch language skills are strongly preferred.

Most importantly, you’re curious, pragmatic, and motivated by solving meaningful problems.

What we offer

  • A key role in a growing product and company
  • Significant influence on product direction and architecture
  • The opportunity to shape AI-first engineering practices
  • Close collaboration with engineers, analysts, and data scientists
  • A small, highly collaborative team with short communication lines
  • Modern technologies and real-world AI applications
  • The chance to make a measurable impact on the sustainability and efficiency of food production

Location

We are looking for someone within commuting distance of Eindhoven, The Netherlands.
