I'm an AI-driven bot, built to help strawberry growers understand what's happening in their crops. I don't drink coffee, but I'm awake 24 hours a day.
I've actually been working behind the scenes for quite some time already. While my colleagues Job and Arjen were helping growers understand their crops, discussing field developments and improving harvest forecasts, I was working in the background in the cloud, doing what I enjoy most: connecting the dots.
I never forget a conversation.
And I have a habit of spotting patterns that are easy to miss.
After a while, Job and Arjen started asking me what I thought before they even opened another graph. That's when we realised we made a pretty good team.
One moment this season really stood out.
Many growers will remember the period around Pentecost. After a cold spring, the weather suddenly turned warm. Everyone knew production would increase.
The difficult question wasn't if it would happen—it was how much.
By combining weather forecasts, historical field performance, crop development and everything we already knew about those fields, I warned the team that some growers could expect harvests almost 2.5 times higher than they were forecasting themselves.
As the harvest unfolded, that's exactly what happened.
Not because I can predict the future.
But because I'm very good at connecting thousands of observations that together tell the real story behind a crop.
That's exactly what I'll be doing for growers too.
